Just northwest of Winnipeg, dozens of mysterious concrete pilings rise in neat grid-like formations from four circular mounds on a rural 16-hectare (40-acre) site. These grey spires, etched with cryptic markings, vary in height, some reaching over 2 metres (6 feet) high.
