A CAA Member learns how her card is so much more than roadside assistance
How can a troublesome tire turn into discounts on Tilley masks? Linnae Mackenzie is more than happy to tell you. The CAA Member has been singing the praises of membership ever since a wheel disrupted her day.
Stuck with a deflated tire in the middle of winter and in need of a tow, Mackenzie called CAA. When she discovered a membership was actually cheaper than the lift alone, she signed up on the spot, thinking it would be the only time she’d need a tow. It was not.
“We ended up getting towed three times since then,” she laughs, cursing the family’s old car. “Every time we’ve called, CAA was quick and helpful. They’ve made everything so easy that we upgraded our membership to make sure we’re covered for our drives to the lake.”
Mackenzie’s membership also came in handy while shopping at her favourite store, RW&CO. When the cashier asked if she was a CAA Member, Mackenzie was pleasantly surprised to discover her membership entitled her to a discount. She’s also saved at other retail stores, eateries like Fionn MacCool’s, and on bookings for a girls’ weekend at the Fort Garry Hotel in Winnipeg.
Last Christmas, Mackenzie shopped through the CAA Store, snagging items from brands like Raber at exclusive rates. During lockdown, she even stocked up on hard-to-find Tilley face masks. “I got the Member discount and they delivered them to my house.”
Her membership journey came full circle when CAA showed up at her door to change her winter tires—yet another surprise perk.
“It was so simple. You just book your appointment online, they come to your house to switch out seasonal tires, and you get a reduced rate on a second car,” she says. “Every time I turn a corner, CAA seems to be there! I love it.”
