May 13. 2025 is National Slow Down Move Over Day. Every year CAA clubs across Canada mark the second Tuesday of May as a reminder for drivers to slow down and move over for emergency vehicles and stopped tow trucks with flashing amber lights on the side of the road. CAA is proud to have a long history of advocating for road safety across Canada, and today CAA clubs across the country unite to advocate for safer roads for everyone.
Ewald Friesen, manager of government and community relations, Canadian Automobile Association, was joined by Manitoba Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Lisa Naylor and Sgt. Mark Hume, acting enforcement commander, D Division Traffic Services, Manitoba RCMP, to talk about Slow Down Move Over Day, including a proclamation by the Manitoba government, and enhanced safety efforts by the RCMP, including sending multiple responders to assist tow scenes and ensure the safety of motorists and tow truck drivers.
